Hose Hydraulics: Let's Talk Friction Loss
Friction loss happens in every hose, but it doesn’t have to slow your attack. Here’s what firefighters and pump operators need to know.
High pressure nitrile rubber attack/supply hose
Manufactured in a similar process as TPX™, ATX™ utilizes a 3-ply design where the cover and liner are extruded independently and double vulcanized to guarantee a consistent, compact hose wall. The polyester reinforcement can then be woven tighter, making this hose more resistant to puncture while also being easier to pack and store. ATX™ has a stronger jacket which increases the service test pressure of the LDH sizes to 300 psi (2068 kpa).
