Packing Hose: Which Crosslay is Right for You?
Speed, safety, and consistency start in the hose bed. Explore five popular packing styles and how setup affects real-world fireground performance.
Snap-tite’s 8D™ is a premium quality, industrial grade, double jacketed hose with a lightweight EPDM (Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer) rubber liner and a maximum operating pressure of 400 psi (2758 kPa). The outside jacket utilizes a tight weave that is less likely to “catch” while dragging through the work site and helps to reduce kinking at low pressures, keeping the flow constant. The EPDM liner is inert to most chemicals, is inherently ozone resistant, and won’t degrade or crack. 8D™ also has a wide temperature range; capable of being used both at a mine in Alaska or a construction site in Arizona.
